1. Confirm Surface Compatibility:
• For painted or finished surfaces, test in an inconspicuous location first. The high strength adhesive may remove the paint and/or finish on some surfaces if the finish coating is not bonded securely to the material.
• Silver metallic labels may not be suitable for printed circuit boards (or other electrical applications). The silver metallic layer is conductive and may cause issues if in direct contact with the circuitry.
• If used on aircraft to cover fasteners, fill the void under the label with a suitable filler to prevent the trapped air under the label from expanding at higher elevations. Trapped air may cause bubbles in the film, which may give a false indication of tampering.
2. Clean the Surface -- The surface must be clean and dry. Use iso-propyl alcohol to clean contaminants from the surface. Dry surface with a clean paper towel before affixing the label.
3. Application Temperature --The minimum application temperature is 50F. The ideal temperature to apply is between 70F and 100F. To accelerate adhesive curing and build strength quickly, use supplemental heat up to 130F for 1 minute.
4. Removing Adhesive Residue -- The adhesive residue can be removed with minimum 90% iso-propyl alcohol. Lower alcohol content is not recommended. Keep clear of any ignition sources when using flammable solvents.

• Colored Ink Labels: OPENED/VOID
• Silver or Colored metallic labels: VOID
• Adhesive: permanent acrylic, typical .005 inch thick
• Lamination -- Custom imprinted text/logo and serial number are laminated with clear polyester film (typical 0.001 in)
• Minimum application temperature: 50F (ideal temperature is 70F to 100F)
• Service Temperature: After application, the service temperature is -40F to +300F.

When ordering, specify one of the bar code symbologies noted below. The bar code symbology may change the label layout and size. Code 128 is the most dense (fits the smallest label) and can contain the most information.

Bar codes are the most readable with a white background. Our stock red background or other light colors are usually acceptable too. Bar Codes on other background colors (especially blue or gray) are not recommended due to bar code readability issues.

Further, in the USA, legislation is pending to expand the criminal law so that federal prosecutors will have an easier time prosecuting counterfeiters that manufacture bogus product labels and packaging.
