SecureGuard™ Security Labels
A non-residue security label eliminates the time, material, and inconvenience to clean up the sticky adhesive residue typical of other security labels. When removed, the hidden pattern OPEN VOID will appear in the film, but it leaves no residue on the affixed surface.
Our security labels are designed to show signs of tamper evidence within 1 minute when removed from the applied surface. Unlike many competitive products, there is no long waiting period for the tamper evidence feature to become operable.
Our non-residue labels are suitable for both indoor and outdoor applications and are available as stock ‘express’ products and custom imprinted versions.
All non-residue labels (ours and competitive labels) have limitations and may leave an adhesive residue in some circumstances. Limitations of Non-Residue Labels
Typically for most surfaces, when our SecureGuard™ labels are removed they will not leave adhesive residue for 3 months. However, the actual length of time for non-residue performance varies based on the surface. Please review the list of surfaces in the section “Choosing a Non-Residue Label" before selecting your label. Then request our free samples to test the labels before you order.
After affixing to the surface, the length of time for non-residue performance may be shortened if the label is exposed to temperatures above +120°F or below +30°F
To minimize adhesive residue on the surface, remove the label using a 180 degree peel angle.
If there is adhesive residue, it can be cleaned with a citrus-based household cleaner (Goo-gone, Orange Sol, etc) or isopropyl alcohol.
Our optional affixing pads may solve some issues for difficult surfaces:
- For low energy surfaces (smooth plastic, textured plastics, powder coated paint, etc) apply an affixing pad which will increase the tamper evident feature.
- For high energy surfaces (bare stainless steel, PVC plastic, etc.) apply an affixing pad which will extend the time duration for non residue performance.
For the customized imprint, our standard process is to print custom text, logos and serial numbers on the surface of the label using thermal transfer resin ribbons. The thermal inks are durable to mechanical abrasion, scratching and most liquids and are suitable for most applications. However, thermal printed inks can be removed with certain solvents such as gasoline, alcohol, or lotions containing alcohol. As an added option, we also offer UV-cured ink jet (black ink only) imprints which are more durable.
Choosing a Size and Shape
If wrapping around the edge of a box, a narrow and long rectangle works best.
To block a mobile phone camera, the .5 x 1.875 inch label is compatible with most phones. Or select other narrow (less than 0.5") labels.

Label sizes below are listed in order of increasing label length (regardless of orientation) followed by increasing label width.
The convention for the label sizes:
- The first number is the dimension across the web
- The second number is the dimension in the direction of the web
For example a 3"x1" label on the roll is a 'landscape' orientation a 1" x 3" label is a 'portrait' orientation as viewed from the leading edge of the roll.

Custom Size Non-Residue Labels
SecureGuar™ Seals must include a unique custom imprint. For security purposes, this product is not sold blank.
Seals are custom printed on 2 inch wide material and then cut to your custom length (1/4 inch increments). The minimum length is .25 inch and maximum is 39 inches. For labels with serial numbers, the minimum length is 1 inch. The finished seals have square corners.
These seals also include a "crack and peel" feature on the backside for ease in removing the paper backing.
Pricing shown includes your custom text and serial number in black ink. Options include a custom logo/graphic and other colored imprint (blue or green).
This product is sold in size groups (along with a production set up per order). If the label length is longer, move up to the next size group. We will produce the exact quantity and size you order using the pricing formula shown. No minimum order quantity.
Custom seals are ready to ship in one week; optional RUSH service.
Length (L) can be customized in 1/4 inch increments:
